Award-winning Angie Lamb from About Faces Noosa shares her passion and knowledge to help others get their glow on – and the key ingredients to achieving radiance.

What’s your best advice for glowing skin?

Having radiant, glowing, healthy skin is something we all strive for, but it can be difficult to know where to start and what will actually work. Aside from the typical advice of drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet and getting enough sleep every night, implementing a few key ingredients into your skincare regime will really make a difference.

I recommend:

1. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

When skin lacks moisture, it loses its natural luminosity, so you want to provide vital hydration. Niacinamide is a potent hydrating ingredient known to calm the skin and revive a dull complexion by supporting the skin barrier to visibly plump and firm for a supple, dewy and more youthful appearance. You can find this ingredient in the Ultraceuticals Ultra B2 range.

2. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an essential, powerful antioxidant that supports a healthy, revitalised complexion. Implementing this hero into your regime has been shown to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time; leaving the complexion brighter and bouncy. Its pure form, L-Ascorbic Acid, is easily recognised by the body and readily absorbed by the skin compared to other forms of Vitamin C; you can find this in the Ultraceuticals Ultra C Firming range.

3. AHAs

Uneven skin texture, dry patches and flakiness are all elements of a dull and lifeless complexion – in other words, a lack of radiance. You’ll want to implement AHAs, particularly Lactic Acid, which is a naturally-derived exfoliant that gently exfoliates the skin’s surface and assists in epidermal cell renewal and rejuvenation. Exfoliate one to two times a week to keep your skin glowing and pores clean – and using an SPF is a daily non-negotiable! Monthly or six-weekly facials also keeps your skin in optimal health.

Tell us about your state-of-the-art lasers…

I love technology and my Cutera lasers are a very well-known brand, made in the United States and founded in 1998, so have stood the test of time. The Cutera Excel V+ is a dual-wavelength laser system designed for treating vascular and pigmented lesions. With advanced cooling technology and versatile handpieces, it ensures patient comfort and customisable treatments. It can treat acne scars, age spots, angioma, benign pigmented lesions, blue facial veins, hemangiomas, melasma rosacea, sun spots, telangiectasia, port wine stains, poikiloderma, venous lakes, broken vessels, and fine lines and wrinkles. This is an excellent laser choice for patients with darker skin types.

With the Cutera Xeo laser, I love doing fractional laser on both acne-affected skin for scar revision and also sun-damaged skin. It is an ablative laser treatment that does need some downtime and can treat periorbital veins as well as venous lake veins, warts, leg veins, photo damage, deep dermal heating, freckles and hair removal.

Laser Genesis is one of my most popular and favourite treatments because there’s no downtime and, by stimulating collagen, it effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves overall tone and texture on the skin, and helps diminish redness. Beyond an improved complexion, we can treat rosacea and sunspots, and lessen the appearance of pores. I call this the ‘Hollywood Facial’ – movie stars love it!

Congratulations on your recent Ultraceuticals award! Tell us more.

In 2008 and 2011, I was awarded Top Skin Therapist in Australia; and in 2023 and 2024 I was named Top Skin Therapist for Treatment Results in Australia. I’m very proud to be part of such a results-driven skincare range, alongside other outstanding therapists nominated for this award. Back when I had my third beauty-skin clinic, an Ultraceuticals rep came into the salon with only three products. I remember thinking, ‘Well, I love that this is Australian-made, is a cosmeceutical, and has a real emphasis on SPF skin protection’. I also knew of founder Dr Geoffrey Heber Davis from Sydney and loved his work, so I was in. I have loved my connections with other business owners, Dr Geoffrey, and my many reps over the past 23 years and believe this is a company that has always put client’s needs and requests at the forefront of their remarkable journey.

What do you love most about helping people with their skin?

I always loved beauty even from a very young age. Some of my earliest memories are of performing treatments on my family I was aged five or six. After college, I studied Nursing at Canberra Hospital soon realising I loved working with people and studying anatomy and physiology as well as skin science. Beauty was always on my radar from a very early age and I moved in that direction after my Nursing was completed. My 40 year journey in the industry has been a passion of medical devices, beauty, skin, makeup and of course, the latest in technology. I am exactly where I have wanted to be living in beautiful Noosa with my gorgeous husband. Loving my chosen career, always learning constantly educating and getting to know and help my clients look and feel their very best at About Faces Noosa.
