Take a Bow with Eliza’s
Eliza’s founder Liz McMillan reflects on her journey providing the finest European fashions and shares her plans for an equally-fashionable future.
It’s a beautiful success story for Elizabeth (Liz) McMillan who says that opening Eliza’s Boutique in Hastings Street in 1998 was a dream come true and the following 27 years of success proving to be a blessing!
“What an amazing, creative, exciting, fulfilling, passion and love-filled business journey it has been,” Liz enthuses after announcing that Eliza’s Boutique would close to make way for her retirement.
“I am eternally grateful to the thousands of clients we had the privilege of styling every year,” she said.
“The connections and friendships drove the pride and the passion that made the journey so fulfilling.”
Eliza’s Boutique brought something exciting and different to Noosa and Australia, providing global fashions to those who visited Eliza’s (est 1998) and Vestiario (2003-2013) on Hastings Street, until Eliza’s moved to Noosaville in 2023.
Liz would attend international fashion shows and take European buying trips twice a year to order and import brands to curate custom-made collections with a priority on exclusive labels, professional service built on love and pride; styling directions and seasonal looks and connecting with women from all over the globe.
“As well as our Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane regulars, women repeatedly came from all over the country to shop at Eliza’s when they visited Noosa,” Liz says.
Her trademarked MagicPants have featured in collections since 1998 and will still be available via the website or phone orders.
“My pride is not only in opening the business and having 27 years of successful growth but also in meeting and connecting with the clients that we have had the pleasure and privilege of being of service to,” Liz said. “I feel it is time to hand the baton over to the next generation of business owners and entrepreneurs.”
Liz offers this advice to emerging entrepreneurs: “Do whatever you dream to do. Do different. Be exceptional. Uplift others and be professional. Stay kind. Put in the hard work and tons of passion. Love what you do. Believe in yourself and your business. Give more to people than they expect. And, success will be yours.”
Liz says more than 2500 women per year shopped at Eliza’s.
“Connecting daily with the most amazing women from all over, uplifted us every week as they appreciated the experience and drove the passion for doing what I love to do,” she says. “People are the most vital and most important aspect of any business and as a business owner and fashion stylist
I loved connecting with amazing women of all ages, professions and lifestyles.
“It is because of them I have had the most fulfilling and memorable career, for this I say a big heartfelt – THANK YOU!
“All the time, love and passion that went into Eliza’s, is now going to be put elsewhere and it is time to focus on another wonderful journey.”
For Liz, that means more time with husband Paul, their children, and family and friends interstate and abroad.
“More travel, making memories and savouring the Noosa lifestyle and daily gratitude for how blessed we are to work and live in this idyllic place,” Liz says.
Of her journey, Liz said a wise businessperson recently advised her to “wrap it in a big bow and be proud.”
Thank you for your decades of style and passion Liz! Take a bow and wrap it in a bow – you certainly should be proud.
