There’s nothing quite like an afternoon of Polo – the exuberance of the clopping hooves as its warrior-like players bow and strike; the fabulous fashions and free-flowing champagne set amongst a luxe coastal vibe, Jodie Cameron discovers Noosa’s chic sporting experience is riding into town on the October long weekend!

Polo is the fastest ball-game in the world; an infusion of elegance, and a very competitive sport mixed with the exhilaration of live thoroughbreds – it’s easy to see why the oldest sport in history heralds that of royalty, and why a stellar line-up of local and international talent is coming to the Rococo AFL Grounds (next to the Noosa Arts Theatre) on Saturday 5 October, for the first ever Noosa Twilight Polo ‘under lights’.

Presented by Reed & Co Estate Agents, the exclusive event will bring together fashions, fillies, friends and family! Enjoy five fabulous hours of competitive arena-style polo, premium hospitality packages, live entertainment, IN Noosa Magazine Fashions on the Field, and the return of traditional Polo favourites like the Divot Stomp and Kids, Ladies and Gentlemen’s Dash.

Noosa Polo co-founder, Aaron Flanagan says after two successful Polo & Provedore events in Pomona, they are thrilled to bring Twilight Polo to the heart of Noosa.

“It’s no secret Noosa comes alive over the October long weekend, and this year we wanted to welcome the whole family with a range of packages and free entry for children aged 12 and under,” Aaron says. “The new twilight schedule also allows visitors to enjoy the day in Noosa, then as the sun goes down, head to the Polo.”

Factor in thrilling action featuring some of the best polo players in Australia and overseas, plus a whole lot of divot stomping, dashes, and the much anticipated return of the Hobby Horse Stakes! The dedicated family zone – complete with acoustic music, ice-cream truck, food stalls and picnic seating means a super fun day out for the whole family. Guests can bring their own setup, however the event is strictly no BYO.

What about the Polo? Well, combining physical skill, mental ability and quick strategic thinking, each player has a specific role and responsibility on the field, and this is your chance to see international polo legend, Jack ‘Ruki’ Baillieu – aka Wills’ and Harry’s mate – in action! Playing all over the globe, Ruki has reached the pinnacle of this elite sport, amassing numerous wins in some of the biggest tournaments.

The polo spirit is bold – so add a splash of colour in a field of florals, light linens, and stylish sun hats! Channel your best Julia Roberts, and dress (or suit) to impress because the IN Noosa Magazine Fashions on the Fields is back! Following the polo, live entertainment from Raw Ordio will carry the vibe into the evening when they perform their legendary beats under the stars.

If you are seeking an exceptional day of colts, fillies, and fine food and wine, there are premium hospitality tickets to suit all tastes and budgets. From family fun to Premium Private Pavilions that are perfect for client entertainment and larger groups. The Player’s Lounge offers a private catered enclosure or for a more relaxed polo experience, the Polo Beach Club has premium views while still offering beautiful bubbles from the Champagne Bollinger Bar!

There will be street parking available around the event, but no parking on the grounds. Go Noosa Free Buses will be operating over the October long weekend, so jump on a bus for easy access to the action or take the scenic route with Sunshine Coast Helicopter Tours.

Channel your inner royal and get amongst the ‘Game of Kings’– in true Noosa style!
